What many may not know is that Clear Channel Airports, which has a worldwide reach, has been headquartered in the Lehigh Valley for close to three decades at 4635 Crackersport Road in South Whitehall Township.

Now, Clear Channel plans to move its entire staff of 140 people from this home to an office building on Tilghman Street near Windsor Drive in Upper Macungie Township.

The move will occur in the second quarter of 2015, said Lucas Yezik, airport development director for Clear Channel.

“It makes sense for us to stay here in the Lehigh Valley,” Yezik said. “The building had aged and we had outgrew it.”

NAI Summit of South Whitehall Township is marketing the Crackersport Road property.

Through the years, Clear Channel Airports continues to deliver and grow revenues for the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority by selling advertising space in the airport.

In January, Clear Channel plans to meet with officials from the airport authority to determine if the partnership will continue, Yezik said.

The firm serves more than 280 airports throughout the world and began as Interspace Airport Advertising in 1974. In 2009, it changed its name to Clear Channel Airports.
