Scott L. Gruber has announced that he will retire as president and CEO of Tompkins VIST Bank of Wyomissing after nearly nine years of service to the company.  

The company said the change will align the Berks bank with Tompkins Financial’s three other affiliated banks as it consolidates the banks into a single charter.

Penn National Gaming of Wyomissing is eliminating 233 jobs between its Wyomissing and Las Vegas operations because of losses the gaming company sustained from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Patient First is providing drive-up appointment-only COVID-19 testing at its location along Paper Mill Road in Wyomissing in Berks County.

All Customers Bank branches are switching to appointment-only service. The changes are being made to protect clients and employees from the spread of coronavirus, bank officials said.  Drive-through service will still be available at five locations.

Penn State Health St. Joseph Spring Ridge is now open for patients after a year of renovations and expansions. The satellite location of the Reading-based Penn State Health St. Joseph hospital is at 2605 Keiser Blvd. in Wyomissing.
