Prospects emerge with massive land sale to Jaindl

David Jaindl, owner of the company, bought the land in White Township from Talen Energy of Allentown.

Jaindl said he submitted a formal plan to the township and will submit another plan in May for a June meeting. Though it’s early in the process and plans are preliminary, he said the property could include mixed use and industrial uses.

“I like the location; it just fit what we wanted to do,” Jaindl said.

Sarah Finney Miller, assistant vice president at NAI Summit in South Whitehall Township, said she represented Talen in the transaction.

The property sold for $11.2 million and covers 585 acres, Finney Miller said.

Jaindl is predicting the company can build between 6 million to 7 million square feet of warehouses on the site, Finney Miller said.

She also said she has an agreement of sale with Jaindl on a neighboring 70-acre site not owned by Talen. Upon closing, the entire tract will be more than 650 acres.

A small portion of the land is in Harmony Township.
