Penn State Health launches four public vaccination locations

Penn State Health opened new vaccination sites in Berks, Centre, Cumberland and Dauphin counties this week.

The Hershey-based health system announced on Tuesday that it provided vaccines to more than 1,400 people on Monday, the first day of operations for the four facilities.

The new sites are:

  • EnerSys Technology Center at 2,400 Bernville Road, Reading.
  • Penn State Health Medical Group at 32 Colonnade Way, State College.
  • Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center at 431 N. 21st St., Camp Hill.
  • The former Power Train Gym at 30 E. Granada Ave., Hershey.

The locations are part of Penn State Health’s plan to expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine once supply of the vaccines becomes more regularly available.

“We are eager to broaden our ability to vaccinate our patients and community members who wish to get it,” said Dr. Peter Dillon, chief clinical officer for Penn State Health. “We are doing our part to vaccinate as many people as possible, as effectively as possible, and our ability to do that depends on vaccine supply provided by the federal and state governments. We continue to ask the public for patience as we await additional vaccine supply in the weeks and months ahead.”

Penn State Health has currently vaccinated more than 27,000 people as part of the state’s Phase 1a direction with appointments for the vaccine currently full based on supply.

As of Wednesday, over 2 million doses of the vaccine have been administered to Pennsylvanians according to the state Department of Health.
