A Klingerstown manufacturer is expanding with the acquisition of an Orwigsburg company that is a worldwide supplier of precision machines for the cold-finishing industry. Both companies are based in Schuylkill County.
Big B MFG., which provides products and services for machining, fabrication, welding, material processing and engineering design needs, has acquired Hetran Inc.
The precision machines manufacturer has been renamed Hetran B as a result of the acquisition.
“Hetran-B has an exceptional line of products, and I’m excited to bring the Big B philosophy of leadership and management to the Hetran-B customers,” said Rusty Blyler, the second generation owner and president of Big B Manufacturing and now president of Hetran-B.
Hetran-B will continue to manufacture the same products, but will be under the leadership of Big B.
The two companies will work together, manufacturing the parts necessary to build the complex Hetran-B product line.
Hetran-B will streamline production, leading to better on-time delivery rates as well as quality installation and service, Blyler said.
