Serfass Construction of North Whitehall Township recently earned a contract to build Haldeman Ford’s service area addition.
The new space, at the Allentown auto dealership on Lehigh Street, will allow the company’s technicians to provide maintenance and service on trucks.
The project would add 5,000 square feet for truck service bays at 25 feet in height, said David Serfass, president of Serfass Construction. His firm started the project a week ago and should finish by the end of March.
The finished product will match the existing building, he added.
He estimated construction costs to be about $300,000.
“The Ford dealership has really been growing, and that’s why he needs the extra service bays,” Serfass said, referring to Paul Haldeman, owner of Haldeman Auto Group. “This is actually our fourth project for Haldeman.”
Serfass also is working on renovating the nearby showroom of the Porsche dealership for Knopf Automotive at 3401 Lehigh St. in Allentown. This project is almost complete, Serfass said.
