A new personal-care facility has opened in Richlandtown, as Meadow Glen at Phoebe Richland is accepting patients.
Personal care is similar to assisted living, but potentially is a better option for older adults who wish to live independently but need support for activities such as bathing, dressing and taking medication.
Meadow Glen is part of a larger campus-expansion.
Phoebe worked with a gerontologic design professionals to create a modern model to meet existing and future needs of residents and the community.
“We are excited for this expansion because we receive inquiries from members of the local community weekly who are in need of services,” said Tracy Roman, executive director of Phoebe Richland.
The new facility is at 108 S. Main St. in Richlandtown.
It is comprised of four neighborhoods, two on each story, for a total of 62 studio apartments, 10 one-bedroom suites and four semi-private suites.
One of the neighborhoods is dedicated to serving 18 residents receiving specialized memory support. That unit will open in the next several weeks and has the capacity to expand.
Already the largest employer in Richlandtown, Phoebe Richland is adding about 40 jobs with the addition of Meadow Glen.
