The message inside MFP Strategies is loud and clear: Every employee has an opportunity to give back to the community. The words are backed up by deeds. The firm’s partners routinely ask nonprofits to come into the office and explain their services and current needs so that MFP employees can determine firsthand whether they are interested in volunteering or donating.
Employees also are encouraged, in conversations with the firm’s leaders, to bring up any unmet needs in their communities—or the communities of their clients. And they often meet those needs as volunteers. MFP employees have worked, for example, with Habitat for Humanity and during the u nited Way Day of Caring.
Leadership is another way the firm gives back. Its partners and employees serve on the boards of numerous organizations, including the American Cancer Society, the u nited Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and Valley Youth House.
Mike Molewski, MFP’s CEO, is founder and co-chair of the Lehigh Valley Food and Wine Festival, a major fundraiser for the Northampton Community College Foundation. Over the last four years, the festival has raised $800,000 for the foundation. At King’s College, Molewski chairs the institutional advancement committee, which raises more than $3 million in annual giving. Molewski graduated from King’s in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology.
Molewski also co-chairs the u nited Way’s Alexis de Toqueville Society and the Lehigh Valley Wine Auction & Gala, which has raised about $1 million over the last five years for Children’s Home of Easton.
While the wealth management firm supports a variety of causes, it focuses much of its efforts on causes that expand educational opportunities for children whose families might not otherwise be able to afford the cost. The firm’s donations have flowed to students and programs at several regional institutions, including Hillside School, Swain School, Moravian Academy and The Hill School.
