Mack returns for second season of Amazon Prime series

After an eight-episode run of the RoadLife series last year, Mack is now working on a second season of stories of the men and women who drive the Lehigh Valley-made trucks. This series will be called RoadLife 2.0.

The second season, which is starting soon, will be twice as long as the first. It will have 16 episodes, with more stories to tell.

“For every compelling story featured last season on RoadLife, we knew there were many others that deserved the same attention,” said John Walsh, Mack Trucks vice president of marketing.

This new season will be a chance to showcase more Mack trucks and Mack drivers in some interesting situations.

“We’ve had a number of Mack dealers come forward recommending customers for a RoadLife episode, which has contributed to the decision to do a second season,” Walsh said.

Next season’s shows will feature stories ranging from snowplow drivers in one of the stormiest places in North America to wine-crush season in California.

In the first season, the production team featured interviews with NASCAR’s Richard Petty and Bubba Wallace. The crew also spoke with Khalil Mack, defensive end for the Oakland Raiders, and members of the Zac Brown Band.

Shooting of RoadLife 2.0 began in January. Mack said its production team has already racked up more than 40,000 travel miles visiting nine locations, including Valdez, Alaska, Reno, Nevada, and Montreal, Quebec. Mack did not release the cost of the production, but did say it saved money by doing the majority of the work with in-house staff.

Walsh said that while the series is aimed at being entertaining, there is business plan behind the effort.

“A key aspect of our marketing strategy is staying connected with customers and enabling them to communicate how Mack products and services positively impact their businesses,” he said. “‘RoadLife’ gives us the ability to showcase the hard-working men and women within the trucking industry and, in the process of telling their stories, highlight the value Mack delivers.”

‘RoadLife 2.0’ premieres later this spring. Details on specific episodes and release dates will be announced soon. Viewers can watch RoadLife episodes on Amazon Prime Video and http://roadlife.tv.
