Lehigh Valley Health Network is expanding its presence in Hellertown with the opening of a medical office building across from Borough Hall.
The building will be the new location for Lehigh Valley Physician Group Family Medicine-Hellertown and Health Network Labs, both of which are at 1072 Main St. in Hellertown. Employees will move from that site to the 11,600-square-foot building at 708 Main St., expected to open in late May, said Brian Downs, spokesman for LVHN. The building is larger than the previous space that LVHN leased, he said.
The initial number of employees for both services will be around 20. There are likely to be more as other services are added, he said.
“We also plan to add more services, but those are not finalized,” Downs said.
At two stories, the new building will offer LVHN space for these and other services, he added.
He declined to disclose the estimated costs of construction.
Ondra-Huyett Associates Inc. of Upper Macungie Township completed the interior fit-out, and Allied Building Corp. of Bethlehem built it, with Lou Pektor as the developer, Downs said.
