Entrepreneur magazine named four Greater Lehigh Valley companies to its Entrepreneur 360 list, a ranking of the top 360 private companies in America.
BerkOne Inc. of Hanover Township, Northampton County, Moving Targets of Perkasie, Hatch House Ventures of Bethlehem and Children’s Integrated Center for Success of Salisbury Township earned spots on the list, which measures the performance of privately held companies across multiple areas, not just revenue, according to Entrepreneur.
BerkOne was No. 53, Moving Targets was No. 233, Hatch House Ventures landed at 302 and Children’s Integrated Center for Success was No. 321.
The list recognizes companies that master the balance of impact, innovation, growth and leadership.
BerkOne, which offers information technology solutions and business process automation services, has been expanding over the past 13 years.
“Just being considered is great, but placing so high is a real honor,” said Tom Kolepp, vice president of marketing and compliance for BerkOne.
He said the company has never been considered for placement on a large scale national ranking before.
Such attention can boost a company’s profile and provide veracity.
“If we are mentioned in these things in any context, it associates credibility for the brand,” said Steve Boerner, president of Hatch House Ventures. His nearly 2-year-old company is a network of startup and growth programs used in partnership with higher education and regional economic development organizations.
“Because of our business model, we partner with universities,” Boerner said. These partners include Bucks County Community College, Rowan University and the University of Delaware.
“Entrepreneurship isn’t just a way of life or a means to an end,” he said. “Today, it represents one of the faster-growing movements in the free market. I think it’s a requirement for economic development. Companies are outsourcing and cutting down jobs.”
Hatch House helped bring in $7.2 million for companies that it interacts with across four locations, including Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware, and 30 startups. Through its feeder program, which has 22 investment firms and angel investors, Hatch House helps these companies get ready to grow, Boerner said.
Moving Targets, a direct mail marketing agency in Perkasie which works with small businesses and big brands, has been around since 1992, said Jenna Gross, chief marketing officer.
She said she found out about the Entrepreneur 360 list a few days ago.
“It’s definitely a very cool honor to be part of such great company, along with everyone else who made the list,” Gross said. “It’s indicative of how hard our team works and their dedication to helping our clients succeed.”
