Spotts, Stevens and McCoy, headquartered in Wyomissing, is expanding into Lancaster County with the opening of a satellite office in Lititz this week.
The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday at the firm’s new office at 701 Creekside Lane.
SSM is a family owned engineering, environmental and surveying firm that serves clients in commercial, industrial, telecommunications, health care, education and government sectors.
The firm has 91 employees and another regional office in South Whitehall Township.
SSM is hiring and will eventually have 10 employees working in the Lititz office, said Eileen Kaley, marketing director for SSM.
“Part of the reason we are expanding in Lancaster and doubled the square footage in the Roma office building in South Whitehall is related to a workforce that is diverse and mobile,” Kaley said.
“Some people who live closer to Lancaster can now work in the Lancaster office periodically. We do have more clients in the Lancaster area, so it made sense to have a brick and mortar building in that space to better serve them locally,” she said.
The firm has staff who live in the region, including Harrisburg, York and Palmyra, she said.
“This mobility is really is going to help us move into the future,” she said.

SSM is leasing its office in Wyomissing from the First Presbyterian Church, which the firm sold to the church 18 months ago. The firm used some of the proceeds from the sale to remodel the space and open a new office in Lancaster, Kaley said.
