Here to answer this week’s “Behind the List” questions and give insights to prospective business owners is Tina Hamilton, president and CEO at myHR Partner Inc. in Fogelsville.

Lehigh Valley Business: How long has myHR Partner Inc. been operating in the Greater Lehigh Valley and what are its primary services?

Tina Hamilton: HireVision Group, the parent company to myHR Partner, began in April 2002.

After I sold my first company, I had an idea to offer outsourced hiring services, not a headhunter or staffing service, but professional internal assistance with hiring. We started with this and added human resources services over time.

Now we offer HR DirectLink, which is “hands-on” human resources services to small and mid- sized established businesses. We handle everything from employee relations, management support, payroll and benefits administration as well as creating and supporting human resources processes, training and more.

LVB: As a management and coaching consultant, what strategies do you implement when working with startup businesses?

Hamilton: We provide outsourced human resources services, so with a startup we would first look at the owner’s vision of what type of culture they are seeking to create. Then we work together to establish modern processes to support that culture.

We focus on understanding the owner’s style of execution so that whatever is implemented, will be followed consistently. We also leave room for changes as we go.

Then we set up easy-to-follow policies and processes to assure federal and state compliance requirements are in place and also that there is a process for everything from hiring to on- and off-boarding, performance management, communications, payroll, benefits, etc.
