The daily tasks of keeping your business alive and well can be overwhelming.
From managing a staff to coordinating schedules and meetings and everything in between, a lot goes into daily business management.
Fortunately, there are companies throughout the region designed to help with these tasks and make your business operate smoothly. One type of business that has a significant impact on many in the Greater Lehigh Valley is that of payroll companies.
Here to answer this week’s “Behind the List” questions and provide insight into payroll services is Nick Antich of JetPay Payroll Services in Center Valley.
Lehigh Valley Business: How long has JetPay Payroll Services been operating in the Greater Lehigh Valley and what are its primary services?
Nick Antich: JetPay Payroll Services, formerly A D Computer, has operated in the Lehigh Valley since 1971. For the last 44 years, JetPay has been a provider of payroll services to businesses of all sizes.
Payroll services include calculating payroll, payroll tax depositing and filing and a cloud-based payroll platform. In recent years, JetPay expanded its services to include human resources management, time and labor management, along with credit card processing and prepaid card services.
LVB: What have been some of the biggest hardships and opportunities that JetPay has encountered throughout its years in business?
Antich: The second half of 1970 with the high interest rates and restriction of purchasing gas created a challenge at the start of our business. The six recessions since 1972 also created hardships.
As a payroll company, an economic downturn affects the number of clients we service and the number of checks we process, due to businesses closing or a decrease of employees.
The Internet produced great opportunity for growth, as it allowed us to offer additional services and create platforms for employers to manage their employees. We were among the first payroll companies to introduce an online payroll platform.
