Behind the List with Lewis Einfalt, Fuel Manager at Fuel Cell Petrol Inc.

Buying fuel at its cheapest point

The cost of fuel always seems to be on the rise, but companies in the Greater Lehigh Valley are trying to provide the lowest costs to homeowners and business owners.

Regulating temperatures and being conservative with burning fuel can slash costs, and finding the right fuel provider also can be important.

Here to answer this week’s “Behind the List” questions is Lewis Einfalt, manager at Fuel Cell Petrol Inc. in Stockertown.

Lehigh Valley Business: How long has Fuel Cell Petrol Inc. been operating in the Greater Lehigh Valley and what are its primary services?

Lewis Einfalt: We just entered our fifth year of business in 2014, however the company’s president and my father, Dennis Einfalt, brings over 40-plus years of business experience. Fuel cell Petrol Inc. provides fuel service to residential, commercial and industrial businesses.

LVB: With the costs of fuel continuously on the rise, what strategies does Fuel Cell implement to provide affordable fuel to its customers?

Einfalt: We try to watch the markets very closely and try to recognize trends within them to buy fuel at its absolute cheapest point and pass that savings over to the customer the best way we can.

LVB: What have been some of the biggest hardships and opportunities Fuel Cell has encountered throughout its years in business?

Einfalt: As we all know, we just witnessed one of the toughest winters in many years. As a delivery company dealing with the winter storms and extreme cold, [it] was very challenging and difficult for everyone. However, as a company we learned from it to help us become a better company and provide better service going forward.

At the same time, it presented opportunity for Fuel Cell to grow because it seemed other fuel service companies struggled to keep up and more and more customers turned to Fuel Cell for their fuel needs.

LVB: How does Fuel Cell directly simulate the local economy of the Greater Lehigh Valley?
