A new bank branch with a fresh look is on its way to Lower Nazareth Township.
Serfass Construction of North Whitehall Township will break ground in late September on a new bank branch for Lafayette Ambassador Bank, said David Serfass, president.
The location is at 4025 Jandy Blvd. near the intersection with Route 248.
Construction on the 4,000-square-foot building should take about eight months, Serfass said.
The bank will have a curved glass front wall and look different than its older branches, according to Serfass.
“We’ve done quite a few banks in the area, five to six for Lafayette Ambassador,” he said. “It’s the first bank of this style for Lafayette in this area.”
The existing Lafayette branch on South Main Street in nearby downtown Nazareth will close once the new branch opens, said Rocco Del Vecchio, president and chief operating officer of Lafayette Ambassador Bank.
“We wanted to get in a more visible location,” he said. “It’s less than a mile from our existing branch.”
Thomas D. Auer of Chesterfield, Mo., is the architect.
“The new design is really going to assist us in developing our brand and more so our marketing efforts,” Del Vecchio said. “It’s really going to be focused on the marketing of our products and services. It is a branch that is more customer friendly than the existing branch.”
Del Vecchio said the bank is hoping to open the branch by April. Infrastructure work should start any day now, he said.
