AutoZone, a retailer and distributor of automotive replacement parts and accessories, is establishing an Allentown region with the opening of a new regional office.
The office, at 4949 Liberty Lane in Lower Macungie Township, will have a management team that will oversee stores in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas in eastern Pennsylvania.
Ray Pohlman, spokesman for the retailer, said the company has plans to open 150 new stores across the country.
“What that means is we are creating a new region every year, as well. The Allentown region is our latest,” he said.
The office will have a regional manager and a yet-to-be-determined number of support positions.
Alex Wilson of SVN | Imperial Realty in Allentown represented AutoZone in the transaction.
The lease for the office was signed in early October. The office should be open by the end of the year.
AutoZone has more than 5,200 stores in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico and Brazil.
