Several area concert venues are among the top ticket-sellers in the United States, according to a mid-year report by Pollstar, a trade publication for the concert touring industry.
The reporting is based on total paid attendance from Jan. 1 through June 30.
Santander Arena in Reading, which has about 8,800 seats, is ranked 89th in the U.S. and 150th worldwide.
At the end of 2016, the arena ranked 98th in the U.S. and 171st worldwide.
The Sands Bethlehem Event Center, which has 2,550 seats, ranked 109th in the U.S.
The Santander Performing Arts Center in Reading, which has 1,750 seats, is ranked 111th in the U.S. and 142nd in the world.
“In what I consider one of the most competitive markets in the country, it’s great to see both venues holding their own during the first half of 2017,” David Farrar, vice president and general manager for SMG – which manages both Santander venues, said in a statement.
“These rankings show that the residents of Berks County want quality entertainment close to home.”
