Air Liquide opens $45M Northampton County expansion

Air Liquide held a grand opening Friday at its newly expanded Advanced Materials Inc. facility in Mount Bethel.

The $45 million project is expected to create nearly 200 full-time jobs.

The company needed additional space to grow and explored options outside of the state and even outside the country, but decided to stay in Northampton County and locate in a 105,000-square-foot building that is about five miles away from its current area operations.

In July the state announced that Air Liquide had received a funding package from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for a $564,000 Pennsylvania First Grant and $564,000 in tax credits to be distributed upon the creation of new jobs.
