KidsPeace names Slack interim president, CEO

By ,

Michael Slack has been named interim president and CEO of Schnecksville-based KidsPeace, a nonprofit that provides foster care, residential treatment and psychological services for children around the country.

Slack had been working as executive vice president and COO since 2016.

Spokesman Robert Martin told Lehigh Valley Business that the announcement is part of a leadership transition that began when current President and CEO William Isemann announced his intention to retire by June 2019.

Isemann has served as president and CEO of the organization since 2008. He will transition to the new role of adviser to the KidsPeace board of directors.

“The board felt that the appointment of an interim president/CEO at this point was the best way to ensure stability in the organization as they complete their search for our permanent CEO,” Martin said.

Slack, who joined KidsPeace in 2001 as director of business development, will be a candidate in that search.

“I’m honored that the board chose me to follow Will Isemann in leading this organization,” Slack said in a release. “KidsPeace has been a force for positive change for the kids and adults we serve since 1882, and I’m looking forward to working with the dedicated associates throughout our organization to achieve greater success for our clients in the future.”

KidsPeace has around 1,700 employees across the country. In 2017 it served 11,000 young people through its programs. At that time it reported $64 million in assets and $120 million in revenue.
