Strayer University will be opening a campus in downtown Allentown.
The private, for-profit college, which is geared towards working adults, has leased 3,300 square feet in 520 Lofts, one of the newest City Center Investment Corp. properties. It’s located at 520 Hamilton St.
Strayer, which already runs a campus in Center Valley, will be located on the ground floor
The building, which is still under construction, will include residential, office and retail space in addition to the planned school.
Strayer offers associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as MBAs, in a range of subjects from business to cybersecurity.
It has both in-person and online classes.
“Strayer University has been serving the Allentown community for almost 10 years, and we’re excited to move to the newly revitalized City Center,” said Brian Jones, president of Strayer University, in a statement. “Not only will this downtown location be convenient for working adults in the Allentown community who are looking for access to a quality, affordable education, we hope it will provide students with education options that will be relevant and in line with the jobs that are currently available in the Allentown area.”
Spring classes are expected to begin Jan 2.
The 520 Lofts building has 5,000 square feet of available office space left for lease.
