The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has moved its e-commerce fulfillment center from Bethlehem Township to East Greenville in Montgomery County.

The move takes the operation from a 4,000-square-foot facility to a nearly 30,000-square-foot facility, according to Shawn Kelly, spokesman for the PLCB.

The new e-commerce fulfillment center, which officially opened this week, employs 12.

Kelly said no jobs were lost in the move. Everyone who worked for the Bethlehem Township facility was offered a chance to transfer to the new fulfilment center or to take other jobs available in the county.

The new, larger warehouse will allow the PLCB to expand its online offerings to include about 4,000 items.

“We anticipate our e-commerce site to grow and we expect that growth to continue,” Kelly said.

Products ordered on the site can be delivered to the store nearest the customer or to a home or business; however the purchaser must be available to accept the package for identification purposes.

The opening of the new center comes in advance of a major redesign of the FineWineAndGoodSpirits.com website, which is expected to be introduced in 2019.

The PLCB regulates the distribution of beverage alcohol in Pennsylvania, operates more than 600 wine and spirits stores statewide, and licenses more than 20,000 beverage alcohol producers and retailers.
