Mount Airy Casino Resort near Mount Pocono said it will break ground at year’s end for its new mini-casino in western Pennsylvania.
Mount Airy Pittsburgh will be in Beaver County on 100 acres off Interstate 376 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, less than 20 miles from the Ohio border.
In February, Mount Airy won the bidding at just under $21.2 million for the license, a Category 4 license.
The casino is expected to open in late 2019. Mount Airy said it will have 750 slot machines, 30 table games, high-stakes area, sports bar and buffet.
Future development plans for the casino include a full-service resort hotel, convention center, fine dining restaurant, pool, spa and salon.
