The Lehigh Valley and Stroudsburg offices of Adams Outdoor Advertising are merging into one.

Tony Cioffi, general manager of the Lehigh Valley office, will serve as the division manager for Pennsylvania and the new office will be known as Adams Outdoor Advertising Eastern Pennsylvania. The merger will be official Oct. 1.

The combined office will have 64 employees. No layoffs are expected.

The company is still looking for a new physical headquarters, and Cioffi said it is looking into the Route 33 corridor as a centralized location. He said Adams is working with developers to identify the right site.

Cioffi said part of the inspiration for the merger is other recent mergers that have occurred in the region with area hospitals and even the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce expanding its reach into Carbon County.

“Regionalization is happening,” Cioffi said. “This will make us more in-sync with our customers.”

To kick off the merger, the company will be participating in Adams’ national campaign of displaying billboards that promote positive themes.

The designs came from Goodtype’s #goodtypetuesday challenge, in which lettering artists and illustrators from around the world were asked what they would put on a billboard. Entries were posted to Goodtype’s Instagram page

“In eastern Pennsylvania, we will use all nine counties and Warren County in New Jersey to promote this, as it’s our new expanded area of coverage,” Cioffi said.

The billboard campaign will continue through Sept. 23.

Nationally, more than 700 print and digital billboards will participate in the campaign in 21 states.
