David Bowie tribute Saturday in Jim Thorpe

- Last modified: May 11, 2018 at 2:03 PM

In January 2016, the music industry lost an icon in David Bowie, a death that shocked the world. The English singer-songwriter and actor was a leading figure in popular music for more than five decades and was acclaimed by critics and fellow musicians for his innovative work.

Bowie’s music influenced the lives of many, and, fortunately, there are many musicians keeping alive his sound.

One is a tribute band, “Starman – The Ultimate Bowie Experience,” which will perform Saturday night at the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe.

Starman features full makeup and costumes. The show opens with the classic “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars” album, front to back, followed by a “Thin White Duke” set of greatest hits.

Tickets are $24 with an 8 p.m. show time.

Tickets and more information can be found here.
