ArtsQuest is looking for food vendors to help serve up one of America’s favorite foods for its latest culinary event – Pizzafest.
“When you think about an iconic food that everybody, or just about everybody, likes, it’s pizza,” said Mark Demko, spokesman for the Bethlehem-based arts organization.
But while everybody may love pizza, everyone has their favorite style of pizza or pizza toppings, so this is a chance for local pizza shops to show off their specialties, he said.
“We’ve seen a lot of growth in interest in our culinary experience events,” Demko said. He referenced such events as Sangriafest and the Food Truck Border Brawl as big draws.
He said the popularity of pizza made it a good food to focus on with this new event.
Pizzafest also will feature family games and beer and spirts available for purchase.
Pizzafest will be June 30 from 1-7 p.m. at SteelStacks in Bethlehem. It will be part of a host of activities going on that day, including Soccerfest.
Demko said people can go to Pizzafest to sample pizza and watch the World Cup Soccer games being played in Russia on the big screen.
They can then stay late and catch a free Levitt Pavilion concert that night.
“It’s a way of bringing all our programming together,” he said.
Those interested in having food trucks at Pizzafest can request an application for the event by contacting ArtsQuest’s Jason Merola at 610-297-7160 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The application deadline is March 23.
