Off The Clock: Univest, community give $12K for hurricane relief
Univest Corp. of Souderton, parent company of Univest Bank and Trust Co., and its insurance, investment and equipment finance subsidiaries donated $12,000 to the American Red Cross though the Univest Disaster Relief Fund with the help of employees and the community. The fund, set up through Univest Foundation, received donations from employees, customers and members of the community from mid-October through November to provide monetary support to areas devastated by hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. The community and employees gave $5,500, which Univest more than matched to get to $12,000. Pictured from left: Jeff Schweitzer, president and CEO, Univest Corp.; JulieAnn Ody, donor development officer, American Red Cross; and Annette Szygiel, executive vice president and chief experience officer, Univest Corp.
The Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association gave $12,500 apiece to Good Shepherd Pediatrics and Northampton Community College at the May 10 regional meeting of the Pennsylvania Automotive Association at Best Western Lehigh Valley Hotel & Conference Center in Hanover Township, Northampton County. Annually, GLVADA donates proceeds from the preview gala for its auto show, but the gala was canceled this year because of a snowstorm. Regardless, the association’s directors donated $25,000 to the charities.
