Beer and wine arrive at second Allentown Giant store

Giant Food Stores has opened the newest beer and wine eatery in the Lehigh Valley at is West Emmaus Avenue store in Allentown.

With this grand opening, a total of 57 Giant Food Stores and Martin’s Food Markets sell both beer and wine in Pennsylvania.

Giant opened a Beer & Wine Eatery at its Allentown store at 3100 Tilghman St. in August.

In a press release, the Carlisle-based grocer said store associates have been working for the past two months to transform a section of the store into the Beer & Wine Eatery.

The eatery will carry a selection of domestic, imported and craft beers as well as different varieties of wine.

Customers will also have a “mix-a-six” option, where they can create their own six-packs from a variety of craft beers.

The eatery also has eat-in and take-out selections for sandwiches, wraps, subs and salads.

The new eatery seats 30 and is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Allentown store is celebrating the grand opening with beer and wine tastings tonight, Feb. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m.
