With construction of the 114-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott now complete, the $13 million hotel opens for business today.
The hotel, aimed at the corporate traveler, has its first customers, said Natalie Blumberg, director of sales and marketing for Fairfield Inn & Suites Allentown West.
“We have 31 solid corporate clients, and they’ve already started making reservations for February and March for rooms and event space,” Blumberg said.
Blumberg said she has been giving many tours of the hotel the past few weeks and found people are happy to have a Marriott brand in this area and like the event space it offers.
Many people particularly like one of its amenities, an indoor swimming pool with a large slide, she added.
Other amenities include a fitness center, the 24/7 Corner Market, valet laundry service, spa-like showers and 55-inch televisions with smart streaming app capabilities and complimentary Wi-Fi, as well as fax and copy services.
The hotel has 3,076 square feet of meeting space for gatherings of up to 120 people. Kelley Jorge is the general manager.
Star Hospitality Group, a hospitality management company based in New York City with an office in Upper Macungie Township, owns the hotel.
The management company described the design as “modern calm,” blending the modern look with a rural, farmhouse design.
H&H Construction Companies of Wyomissing constructed the four-story building. The architect is Denver Architects.
The hotel will host a grand opening 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 22, with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m.
