Local banking veteran to head ESSA Lehigh Valley region
ESSA Bank of Stroudsburg has announced the hiring of June M. Webre, a veteran Lehigh Valley banking executive, to a top post.
Webre has been named senior vice president and regional president for the Lehigh Valley.
Webre has served as a Lehigh Valley banking executive for more than 30 years according to ESSA.
Her primary focus has been on commercial banking.
Prior to joining ESSA, she served as senior vice president and Lehigh Valley regional president with Provident Bank.
She also served as executive vice president and Lehigh Valley regional president with Team Capital Bank.
Webre received her bachelor’s degree from Cedar Crest College in Allentown.
Her hiring comes as part of a management restructuring of ESSA, which involved the creation of three regional president positions serving the northern region, Philadelphia region and Lehigh Valley region.
Joseph Bonsick and Gene Maffey will lead the other two regions.
Bonsick will serve clients in Northeast Pennsylvania. He has over 29 years of commercial banking experience in various rolls and organizations.
Maffey focus is to oversee the growth of ESSA Bank & Trust in the Philadelphia region.
All three regional presidents will report to Peter A. Gray, who has been named chief banking officer.
Gray, who has been with ESSA for nearly a year, previously served as director of strategic initiatives.
He is also a longtime veteran of banking in the region.
Prior to joining ESSA, Gray served as senior vice president and market president at BB&T, with responsibility for five counties in Pennsylvania. He has over 29 years of banking experience in a variety of capacities including credit administration, commercial and retail banking, wealth management, and treasury management.
He reports to Gary S. Olson, president and CEO.
ESSA Bank has seven branches and a regional office in its Lehigh Valley territory.
