Mack Trucks has a new president.
Mack’s parent company, the Volvo Group, has named Martin Weissburg to succeed Dennis Slagle, who has led the company since 2008.
Mack Trucks Lehigh Valley manufactures heavy trucks in Lower Macungie Township and has 1,800 employees in the Greater Lehigh Valley.
Weissburg, who has served as president of Volvo Construction Equipment since 2014, will take over the job on June 1.
Slagle will remain with the Volvo Group as a special projects leader.
“In Marty Weissburg, Mack Trucks will have another proven leader who is passionate about realizing the full potential of this great truck brand,” said Martin Lundstedt, Volvo Group’s president and CEO in Sweden, in a statement.
Weissburg will be headquartered in Greensboro, N.C.
