Avantor Inc. is moving its Center Valley headquarters to downtown Allentown.
The global supplier of ultra-high-purity materials for the life sciences and advanced technology markets has been in Center Valley since 2011 when it moved from Lopatcong Township, N.J.
“The move to Tower 6 is an exciting step for Avantor. We look forward to contributing to the transformation of downtown Allentown while continuing our commitment to the Lehigh Valley community,” said Michael Stubblefield, CEO of Avantor. “It’s a smart move for our business that we are confident will create new opportunities as we develop a dynamic, contemporary workspace in the heart of this growing commercial and cultural area.”
Tower 6, a City Center Investment Corp. property which is under construction in downtown Allentown, is in the Neighborhood Improvement Zone at 600 Hamilton St. The zone provides tax incentives for businesses that locate there.
The building is expected to be open in May 2018. Avantor said the move will take place in mid-2018.
The building also will be home to Talen Energy Corp., which will be moving from the PPL Plaza building down the street in center city.
Avantor has 120 employees at its Center Valley headquarters.
