Lehigh Valley businesses had a chance to network and meet the buyers at a biannual event in Bethlehem this morning.
The event, LV Meet the Buyers, is a collaborative effort of nine business organizations: the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp., Allentown Economic Development Corp., Community Action Development Corporations of Allentown and Bethlehem, Lehigh University Small Business Development Center, Lehigh Valley Workforce Development Board, Manufacturers Resource Center, Nazareth-Bath Regional Chamber of Commerce and Slate Belt Chamber of Commerce.
Billed as a “reverse trade show,” the event brought in 53 tables of buyers, sponsors and other organizations to the roughly 200 attendees for a meet and greet. The event was held at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.
“The purpose is to prove an avenue for various levels of business in the Lehigh Valley to make connections,” said Sally Handlon, president of Handlon Business Resources of Bethlehem Township, who helps organize the event. “Hopefully, this gets doors open for future business engagement. It’s all about starting relationships.”
The last time the show was held was in 2015. The event is complemented by a series of seminars to help guide business owners on the process of getting their product or service in the door before buyers representing large corporations or government entities.
