Air Products of Trexlertown said it has been awarded the oxygen supply for the new production facility of LG Chem, Korea's leading chemical company and one of the largest chemical companies in the world.

"LGC has been a strategic customer for Air Products, and we are honored to have their continued confidence in our capabilities to support their growth plans," said Kyo-Yung Kim, president of Air Products Korea.

Air Products will supply gaseous oxygen through an on-site PRISM vacuum swing adsorption oxygen generator to LGC's new facility, which is in central South Korea.

The oxygen will be used for the production of materials used in secondary batteries.

In other news, Air Products also announced an increase in prices for liquid and bulk industrial gas products in North America.

According to the company, there will be up to a 20 percent increase in price for liquid argon and liquid and bulk helium.

There will be up to a 15 percent increase in price for liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen and liquid and bulk hydrogen.

There will also be up to a 10 percent increase in price for liquid carbon dioxide and for monthly tank service charges.

The new prices are effective Oct. 1 or as contracts permit, it said.
