Festivals are a mainstream attraction these days, encompassing a variety of music and food to wine tastings and more.
Returning for the second year to downtown Allentown on Sept. 9 is the second annual Beer Fest.
The Hamilton District Main Street Program, in partnership with Cork & Cage and the city, will host the festival on the 500 and 600 blocks of Hamilton Street and offer a panoply of beers, food and live entertainment.
The festival will kick off with 50 breweries and close to 100 different beers to sample. Live music will be performed all afternoon, and nearby restaurants including Bell Hall, Centro, grain. and The Hamilton Kitchen will be serving food on the streets. A number of craft vendors will showcase their wares.
It is a ticketed event for those 21 and older, however, a ticket isn’t necessary for those who are not sampling beer. Attendees can enjoy free live music and buy food.
A ticket provides unlimited beer sampling along with a 3.5-ounce tasting glass.
The festival runs from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9. Tickets are $34 online or $40 at the door. An early bird rate of $24 is available until July 11.
Parking is available in and around Downtown Allentown.
Sponsors of the event include Allentown, City Center Lehigh Valley, PPL Center and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
