Lomax Carpet & Tile Mart held a grand opening recently for its newest superstore.
The independent flooring retailer opened in a 40,000-square-foot space beside the Coventry Mall in Pottstown. The space formerly was a SuperFresh grocery store.
“It’s been great to have been able to resurrect an unproductive, dilapidated building and restore it into a great place for flooring consumers to shop and save … while generating new jobs and contributing to the tax base of the local community,” said Michael Longwill, third-generation owner of the family owned company.
Longwill said the store will feature a large selection of rolled carpeting where customers can have it bound on-site to take home. Customers also can schedule for home measurement and installation at a later date.
There will a wide variety of styles and sizes of oriental and area rugs.
Hard surface flooring at the store ranges from ceramic tile and natural stone to hardwood and laminates.
There are 12 Lomax Carpet & Tile Mart stores in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
The new store is at 351 W. Schuylkill Road, Pottstown.

Sanofi debuts testing facility
A grand opening was held recently at Sanofi Pasteur’s U.S. headquarters in Swiftwater to unveil a new, leading- edge quality building.
The new facility will allow Sanofi Pasteur, the world’s largest manufacturer of the flu vaccine, to meet public health needs by expanding review and testing capacity on-site.
Potentially, it could reduce time to market for its vaccines, the company said.
