Dr. Ann D. Bieber is completing her third year as president of Lehigh Carbon Community College. During that time the College flourished with: the partnership in a $10 million, competitive federal grant to support a three-college consortium providing high-priority workforce training in northeastern Pennsylvania; establishment of $1.5 million scholarship endowment for high-need Lehigh Valley career and technical institute graduates; recognition of LCCC as a “top 10 community college for instruction technology” by the national Center for Digital Education; and recognition of LCCC as number three in the Top Places to Work in the Lehigh Valley for large employers.
Most recently, Dr. Bieber strengthened the College’s partnerships with military, businesses, nonprofits and educational institutions. Under her leadership, she has created high-value partnerships with business and industry leaders, community organizations and economic development authorities, and led groundbreaking initiatives to help area businesses maintain a skilled workforce with recognition resulting in LCCC ranked as one of the best community colleges in Pennsylvania by schools.com (placing third) and designation as a Military Friendly institution.
Dr. Bieber is committed to enhancing, improving and fostering the college’s standing as one of the region's premier educational institutions resulting in LCCC’s recognition with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hispanic Chamber for its commitment to educate Hispanic students. She has worked diligently to expand scholarship opportunities for students resulting in approximately $700,000 annually for student scholarships.
She serves as a member of the Lehigh Valley Partnership Board, the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board, the Manufacturers Resource Center Board of Directors, the DaVinci Science Center Board and Futuros Empresarios Foundation Board. Dr. Bieber has earned several recent awards for her leadership, including the Girls Scouts 2015 Take the Lead Award, Lehigh Valley Business’s 2015 Women of Influence Award, Nike’s 2015 Women’s Leadership Award and the 2015 Number One Leader of large Lehigh Valley employers.
Dr. Bieber earned her bachelor of science degree from Cedar Crest College, her master of public administration from Kutztown University and her doctorate of educational leadership and management from Capella University. A native of northeastern Pennsylvania, she lives in Orefield with her husband, Matt, a high-tech corporate executive. Together they have two children, Natalie, a physician at Lehigh Valley Hospital, and Matthew, entrepreneur and venture capital executive.
