Comedian and actor Michael Ian Black to perform at ArtsQuest

You might know him best from comedy series The State, Ed, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, or Wet Hot American Summer. Or maybe from his multiple appearances on Celebrity Poker Showdown or his first children's book, “Chicken Cheeks,” in 2009. Or maybe from the six other children's books and four books for adults.

Michael Ian Black has a long-running career in showbiz, and on Saturday he’ll be bringing his comedic persona to the Musikfest Café at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.

Black regularly tours the country as a stand-up comedian and has released three stand-up albums: I Am A Wonderful Man, Very Famous and Noted Expert.

He got his start in college when he co-created The State as a sketch comedy troupe, which went on to have a successful run on MTV. Following that success, Black co-created the television shows Viva Variety, Stella and Michael and Michael Have Issues.

For four seasons, he starred as Phil Stubbs on the NBC comedy drama Ed, and he was heavily featured on VH1’s I Love The … series.

One of his most notable roles came when he starred in Wet Hot American Summer, as well as the Netflix television series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. He will star in the upcoming second season Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later.

He regularly appears on the Comedy Central series Another Period and The Jim Gaffigan Show on TV Land. He has starred in several other television series and movies.

Black resides in the wilds of Connecticut with his wife and two children.

This show will contain adult language and/or situations. Anyone ages 13-18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No child 12 or younger will be admitted.

Comedians Mary Radzinski and Kris Fried open the show.

Tickets are $35 and $39.

Doors and dinner at are 6:30 with an 8:00 start time.
