Big things are happening at Mountain View Vineyard in Jackson Township, Monroe County, and it's going to need a bigger staff.
The winery, which was founded in 2009 and operates out of the owner’s home basement, plans a May opening of its new winery, which will give the business four times the size.
With that comes a tasting room, which will feature a circular bar, fireplace, wraparound porch and bistro, in addition to the new barreling area where it will make wine and host events.
There is also outdoor space for tented events, such as weddings.
Next Wednesday, Feb. 22, the winery is hosting a job fair from 1 to 7 p.m., where it hopes to find about 30 full- and part-time workers for jobs including winery tasting room attendants, cooks, dishwashers, bistro host, servers and catering servers.
“We have already brought on four excellent management staff members,” said co-owner Linda Rice. “They are excited to build their new teams.”
Part of the new operation will be the Frogtown Bistro at Mountain View Vineyard, a bistro run by Chef Lyman Winner, who operates the Frogtown family of restaurants in the Poconos.
The new winery is on Walters Road, about two miles from the winery’s existing location. The area where the winery now operates will be used for a distillery operation.
The job fair will be held at the existing location at 5866 Neola Road.
