Two Wyomissing-based technology firms are now working together in an effort to expand the offerings and footprint of the newly formed company.
Stratix Systems, a provider of office imaging and printing technology and managed information technology services, has acquired a majority stake in LYNX Computer Technologies, a regional IT consulting firm specializing in small-to medium-sized businesses.
The IT firm will now be known as LYNX Computer Technologies, a Stratix Systems Company.
Peter Mullenberg, LYNX vice president and partner, said the two companies are a good fit. Stratix had the hardware and a large footprint of offices, with locations in Reading, Bethlehem, Philadelphia, York and central and northern New Jersey.
“What they were lacking in was a good IT division,” Mullenberg said.
Mullenberg said to build its IT services Stratix acquired LYNX and its team of 30 experienced IT professionals.
From LYNX’s perspective, “[Stratix] had the infrastructure and resources to grow the company to the next level,” Mullenberg said. “The beauty of this for us is that we now have all these new locations. We now have a presence in the Lehigh Valley.”
With this acquisition, Stratix now has 120 employees.
LYNX will keep its operations at 7 Bristol Court in Wyomissing. In the future, though, Stratix may expand its campus at 1011 North Park Road in Wyomissing and move IT operations there.
Brent Simone, president of Stratix, will serve as president and CEO of LYNX Computer Technologies, a Stratix Systems Company.
The three partners of LYNX maintain a part of their ownership status, with Mark Diefenderfer serving as president of LYNX Computer Technologies and Mullenberg and Michael Widel serving as vice presidents.
