United Electric Supply is moving out of its Easton location at 1298 Spruce St., to a new, larger location at 2820 Emrick Blvd. in Bethlehem.

Lou Salvadori, spokesman for the New Castle, Del.-based electrical product dealer, said not only does the new 8,100-square-foot location provide more space, it will be more convenient for customers.

“One of the problems we have with our space on Spruce Street is that there is hardly any parking,” Salvadori said. “With this new location it will be easier to park and to get in and out.”

The larger store will be more like United Electric Supply’s 21 other locations throughout Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

The store offer self-selection as well as call-ahead ordering to the electrical, mechanical and general contractors that make up the bulk of the company’s business.

“Currently, there’s not a lot of space for shelving in Easton,” Salvadori said.

The new location is expected to open by Jan. 23.
