-- They listen more than they speak.
-- They don’t pass judgment.
-- They don’t seek attention.
Those are three of the things that truly confident people do differently, according to Travis Bradberry, co-author of “Emotional Intelligence 2.0” – a book about dealing with emotions and using intelligence in a beneficial way.
All told, Bradberry's piece, seen on LinkedIn, lists a dozen traits of confident people. His article is a good read for anyone in business.
It’s not to say that someone has to be in lockstep with all 12 of the traits, but they could be worth reviewing and examining in terms of your career.
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right,” Henry Ford said, notes Bradberry.
Bradberry also notes that building confidence is a journey, not a destination. So, it’s always a good time to start. (After the weekend, I suppose!)
