35 regional companies named finalists for Business of the Year awards

Lehigh Valley Business has named 35 finalists in its annual Business of the Year awards program.

The winners in each of five categories will be announced at a semi-formal awards dinner Dec. 8 at ArtsQuest in Bethlehem.

The Business of the Year awards program celebrates the region’s most dynamic businesses and business leaders who share a commitment to professional excellence, business growth and the community.

Finalists were selected in five categories: Business of the Year (1-35 employees), Business of the Year (36-100 employees), Business of the Year (101 or more employees), Emerging Business of the Year and Corporate Citizen of the Year.

In addition, one person was chosen for the Executive of the Year award. He is Jay Sidhu, chairman and CEO of Customers Bancorp Inc., Wyomissing.

Finalists and winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges: Polly Beste, retired president, Beste Marketing Services Inc.; Joseph Bubba, managing partner, chair – health care law, Fitzpatrick, Lentz & Bubba PC; Lin Erickson, executive director and CEO, Da Vinci Science Center; and Joseph P. Mallee III, president and general agent, MassMutual Eastern Pennsylvania.

The awards program, produced by Lehigh Valley Business, is presented by Highmark Blue Shield and sponsored by Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp., Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Peerless Business Advisors, ArtsQuest, Equinox and the John Yurconic Agency.
