Podiatrist Dr. Michelle McCarroll has opened a new practice on South Cedar Crest Boulevard in Allentown. She figured most people just referred to her as “that foot doctor,” anyway, so that's what she named her practice.
That Foot Doctor LLC seemed like a much more interesting name that the hundreds of suggestions and ideas she had pored through before deciding on the moniker.
She said most podiatrists have fairly boring, generic names, and so That Foot Doctor would help her stand out.
McCarroll, a surgically trained podiatrist, has been practicing for 20 years and has worked for four other practices.
Podiatry won't be the only services offered at her office.
She also plans to offer cosmetic services to patients from a licensed medical nail technician, with the opening of the Red Rose Nail Spa LLC in room one of her office.
“Very often people get fungus or other infections when they go to get manicures or pedicures,” McCarroll said.
She thinks offering a sterile environment for such services will be an attractive feature for people concerned with such issues.
That Foot Doctor held a grand opening and ribbon cutting July 31 at 1251 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown.

About a year after opening, the Third and Ferry Fish Market in Downtown Easton has opened a party and event room called the Lipkin Room.
The theme of the room is repurposed, vintage with estate sale furnishings.
In addition to serving as an event room, the Lipkin Room also can be used as overflow for busy nights at the restaurant.
Owners noted there is a big screen television in the room, so fans can watch sports and other broadcasts.
