Crayola Inc., based in Forks Township, will open a new Crayola Experience in Orlando, Fla.

In the Florida Mall, minutes from Orlando International Airport, the new Crayola Experience will feature 25 hands-on attractions for children and families. The facility, scheduled to open next July, will be roughly 70,000 square feet.

Although best known for its iconic crayons and markers, the 111-year-old company now has more than 1,500 proprietary products and technologies that have changed the way that children play.

“Ours has always been a culture of innovation,” CEO Mike Perry said. “This next adventure is yet another dynamic way we’re advancing our mission of helping parents and teachers raise creatively alive children and creating some colorful family memories in the process.”

An existing Crayola Experience on Centre Square in Easton was renovated last year.

The new Crayola Experience will feature a retail store offering souvenirs and the world’s largest collection of Crayola products. The store will be open to the public.

Crayola expects to hire up to 200 people at the Florida location.
