If the officers and directors of the Greater Berks-Lehigh Valley Chapter have their way, the Construction Financial Management Association will no longer be the best-kept secret in the eastern Pennsylvania construction marketplace.
The mission of CFMA is to be “essential to the success and growth of the construction financial professionals.”
Founded in 1981, CFMA has more than 6,600 members in 88 chapters across the U.S. and Canada. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the educational needs of today’s construction financial professionals, CFMA helps build a better bottom line.
The Greater Berks-Lehigh Valley chapter was formed in 1997 to better meet the needs of construction industry financial professionals working in the markets outside of Philadelphia and Harrisburg.
Over the past 17 years, the chapter consistently has served 35-45 members with educational programming and seminars.
The opportunity to network with other industry professionals in the same construction marketplace is a prime benefit of a CFMA member’s experience. CFMA membership provides opportunities for personal and leadership development by getting involved in a professional organization.
Other tangible benefits of CFMA membership include monthly chapter meetings, free monthly educational webinars, the annual National Conference & Exhibition, the “CFMA Building Profits” bimonthly magazine, annual surveys and benchmarking tools and certification via CFMA’s affiliate organization, the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals.
“Becoming a CFMA member is essential if you are a financial executive of a contractor or a third-party service provider to the industry,” said chapter president Mike Malinoski of Parente-Beard LLC in Reading. “The knowledge sharing is second to none.
“Not only will you benefit from the many programs and products CFMA has to offer, you’ll network with like-minded individuals and gain friendships that will last a lifetime.”
