The Club at Morgan Hill, a public golf course in Easton, is on the market. Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services is listing the property for $1.75 million.
Rob Waldron, the lead agent on the sale, said the golf course is owned by the developer of the Morgan Hill Community, Country Classics.
"The golf course was built as an amenity for the community," Waldron said. "It was built to help sell the community, but now the community is built out and they're developers. Their core business is not golf courses."
The course features 179 acres, an 18-hole course designed by Kelly Blake Moran and an 8,100-square-foot clubhouse that also is home to the Vintage Restaurant and Bar.
Waldron said he is looking to owners of other golf and resort properties that may be looking to expand their portfolio, real estate investment groups or business professionals with a love of golf as potential buyers.
A specialist in the Florida firm's National Golf & Resort Properties Group, Waldron said the golf resort real estate market has been soft in recent years, but that has been turning around.
"The last few years there have been a lot of distressed properties on the market, but we're seeing that change now and there's been more interest in golf courses as an investment," he said.
