Air Products and Chemicals of Trexlertown has expanded with a new manufacturing facility that was built in Florida.

The new liquefied natural gas heat exchanger manufacturing facility will double Air Products’ manufacturing capacity of the technology.

The location for Air Products’ Port Manatee manufacturing facility provides access to port services and will facilitate global shipping of what is typically already very large equipment.

It also will allow Air Products to manufacture even larger LNG heat exchangers, which are being demanded by the market.

“This plant will meet a defined LNG production market need around the globe,” said John McGlade, chairman, president and CEO of Air Products. “At this location, Air Products will be able to supply the additional capacity required to stay ahead of increasing customer demand, and specifically for the manufacture of larger LNG heat exchangers.”

The technology takes natural gas and unlocks it by liquefying it and making it possible to economically ship it around the world.

The LNG is eventually re-gasified for energy use.
