More than 85 entrepreneurial hopefuls will be gathering for the second annual Lehigh Valley Startup Weekend, which kicks off today at Ben Franklin TechVentures on Lehigh University’s Mountaintop campus in Bethlehem.
The event brings together people with business ideas and people with the skills they might need to form teams that compete to see who has the best startup idea.
More than 250 similar events are being held across the nation as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The winning idea will move forward to a regional event, where it will go up against other winners from around the nation in a virtual global startup battle.
Last year's Lehigh Valley winner was an idea for student assignment scheduling using tablet computers. It led to the creation of Skaffl LLC, the company that is now developing the concept.
