PPL EnergyPlus awarded energy supply deal for GSA facilities in Pa.

Allentown-based PPL Corp. subsidiary PPL EnergyPlus has been awarded a five-year contract to supply federal General Services Administration facilities in Pennsylvania with energy.

The nearly 20 facilities include hospitals and other sites run by the Department of Veterans Affairs and federal correctional facilities, according to a news release.

Under the deal, the company will provide about 300 million kilowatt-hours of competitively priced energy, the release stated.

PPL EnergyPlus LLC is an unregulated subsidiary of PPL Corp. and offers products and services that include electricity, natural gas and renewable energy to commercial, industrial and institutional customers.

Shares of PPL Corp. are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol PPL.
